UITMC Meeting on December, 2nd 2015

“Toastmasters Club is the best place to make mistakes” TM Johan, DTM said. Yes, UI Toastmasters Club was visited by TM Johan, DTM. He motivated us, especially the executive committees to learn more and more, to never give up, and to put in mind that making mistakes is also the part of learning. We’re really happy to have TM Johan, DTM in our regular meeting so we thanked him very much for his coming. We started the meeting on time. Around 11 members were already in the meeting place before the meeting started. They were Atma, Nurul Bahirah, Annisa Sholiha, Nopi, Lulus, Sofie, Andika, Soulaya, Erlangga, Nurul Fajry, and Tasya. Guests who were already there, were Iyan, Abdi, Nufus, and Yuzra. We were really excited, one by one, another members (Marina, Susan, and Annisa Darmawati) , guests (Teguh, Langit, Akbar, and 2 girls), and visiting member (Furqan) came. Tribute to Benanzir Bhutto, our theme was “Life is to short to spend worrying about people who opposed you”. While our word of the day was “Persevere”. Its definition is (1) to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly, (2) to persist in speech, interrogation, argument, etc.; insist. In table topic session, 6 speakers delivered their impromptu speech from 1 to 2 minutes. Langit, the first speaker, explained about the deficiencies if woman becomes a leader. Yuzra, told us that the purpose of a hero is to persevere. Teguh, told about his big dreams. Iyan thought about the assault of the people. Different with Langit, Abdi explained abut the excellences when a woman becomes a leader. While Nufus told something (I’m sorry, I forgot). While we had 4 speakers for prepared speech session. Soulaya delivered a speech about writing. She was really enthusiastic to inform us about writing. Lulus successfully broke the ice, she told us about her life and how she found UI Toastmaster Club as one of her destiny. Sofie delivered her fifth project of basic manual. She introduced us one of the beauty place found in Bandung, it’s Braga Street. While the last but not least, Susan attracted us to prepare 4 things before hiking. She reminded us to ask parent’s blessing, write down our last will, learn about how to survive in the mountain, and so on. Before moved to individual evaluation session. TM Johan, DTM, gave educational speech for some minutes, about how to evaluate. He gave analogy for evaluation. Doing evaluation is like making a sandwich. It should be the opening, body, and conclusion. The bread used are only 2, the bread for the top and...
