“Welfare is not only about giving material things to our family (others), but it also gives pleasures and happiness.” That was the valuable sentence from Toastmaster Taufiq. He was our special- guest of UI Toastmaster Club, April 28, 2016. The meeting started on time, with the attendance of 15 members and guests. They were Nurul Bahirah, Abdi, Thesa, Tita, Mila, Lulus, Erlangga, Ilhamdi, Adi, Emriyati, Taufiq, Sindy, Irene, Sofi, and Atma. Theme of the day was : “Safety brings first aid to the injured”, With word of the day : ” Welfare”. Definition of WOD are: 1. The health, happiness, and fortunes of a person or group. 2. Statutory procedure or social effort designed to promote the basic physical and material well-being of people in need. 3. Financial support given to people in need. In the beginning of the meeting, the TOM TM Irene gave us unordinary opening. She divided us into two groups: “If-group” and “So-group”. Then she challenged members of the groups to make a simple sentence using ” if” and “so”. After that, every group was asked to send their delegation to match “the if” and “the so” in pairs. There are three phrases was conducted: “If I built send-castle (Abdi), so I will take a rest (Emri)” “If I ask one hour before dying (Thesa), I will shoot you with the gun (Taufiq)” “If I met you (Iyun), I will pay my debt 14 years ago (Sofi)” And the second-phrases is the favorite one, because the phrase was really a “thunder-phrase”. Thanks to Irene who was so creative for the ice-breaker. In table topic session, 6 speakers delivered their impromptu speech from 1 to 2 minutes. The TTM, TM Mila had given some special questions. The winner of the table topic session was TM Taufiq. With his matureness, he had given us such several wisdom quotes. The meeting only had 2 speakers for prepared-speech session. First speaker was TM Sindy who delivered speech about “Safety first”. She reminded us to be aware in our safety everywhere we will go. The second speaker was TM Sofi. She described about ” Pearls, as the one of beauty from Indonesia”. In the speech, members also guests were informed about kinds of pearls and how the process of pearls’s cultivation. In this session, TM Sindy had been the winner of the best speaker. Moved to educational-session, there are TM Sofi had evaluated TM Sindy. And TM Abdi had evaluated TM Sofi. The best evaluator-speaker is TM Abdi, but not in ballout process because TM Sofi was overtime (unqualified) in her evaluating 🙂 Of course the meeting was ended early because of the little amount of speakers. But it didn’t mean the meeting had lack of spirit and positive things. The whole of the meeting ran well, the equipments were complete, and everybody was so amazing! So, that’s all. Thank you for reading. Best Regards,...

By making this regulation it is to ensure that every member is also participating in the success of the day to day meeting and encourage them in their leadership track.
